BEADMAKING CLASS INFORMATION

Montclair Beadworks Group Classes
Classes are limited to 8 students and pre-registration is required.
$35.00 per class. Materials not included.
                                                          
BASIC BEADING I
Learn to design and finish a necklace using soft flex wire, crimp beads and clasp. You will learn the basics - stringing materials, findings & tools - enabling you to design & create jewelry for yourself, family and friends.

BASIC BEADING II
A continuation of Basic Beading I: designing & finishing a necklace and/or bracelet using leather, cotton cord and stretch magic. Also included: beaded eye glass & ID badge holders, key chains & beaded pins.

EARRING WORKSHOP  
Design & create your own earrings: drop, hoop, pierced and clip-ons…….
You will be amazed at how inexpensively you can make stunning earrings.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES
Learn to design and finish 2 bracelets using: Soft Flex wire, crimp beads and clasp.
$25 per class plus $10 material fee per class. 

KNOTTING WORKSHOP   $50 per session
You can continue to develop your skill by taking our Knotting Workshop. In this class, you will broaden
your use of materials from beading cable to beading thread. In this two and a half hour workshop you
will learn:
       1.) How to choose appropriate threads
       2.) How to use knotting to attach clasps and closures with bead tips; and
       3.) How to knot between beads using a tri-corder

Spiral Caged Bead Bracelet
This class will teach you how to take your wire wrapping skills to a new level. This bracelet is a great way to incorporate metal wire into your designs and is open to all skill levels!
Supplies are not provided, ask for it in the store. Tools are provided, but feel free to bring your own.

  One roll of 20guage craft wire.
  One toggle or lobster claw of your choice.
  6 x 8mm round Swarovski crystals.
  7 x 6mm bicone Swarovski crystals.
  4 x 5mm jump rings.
  1 pair ear wire.
  1 pair head pin.

Optivisor® or reading glasses, if you need them

Columbia Link Bracelet and Earrings
Make a sterling silver and stone bracelet and earring with perfect wire wraps. You’ll learn an efficient, wire saving way to wrap and finish your design.

Supplies needed for class:
  20g haft hard Sterling Silver wire.
    8 Sterling Silver bead.
  10 (12mm) close jump rings.
  50 (6mm) open jump rings.
   1 pair lobster claw.
   1 pair ear wires

Swarovski Illusion Necklace
This technique will show you how to create a simply stunning necklace by spacing faceted beads on colored nylon coated stringing wire.
Supplies are not provided, ask for it in the store. Tools are provided.

  Assorted sizes and shapes of Swarovski crystals or glass beads.
  Size 1 crimp tubes in matching color.
  Two end cones.
  Craft wire.
  Clasp (toggle or lobster claw).
  1 pair head pin.
  1 pair head wire.
  1 tube jewelry glue.

Optional:
  Optivisor® or reading glasses, if you need them

At top of ramp, go left on Watchung Ave. Once on Watchung Avenue go 4 traffic lights to Grove Street. Make left on Grove Street and go to next traffic light. Make right at Chestnut Street, go 5 blocks and make left on N. Fullerton Street. Go 4 blocks to Bloomfield Avenue. Cross Bloomfield Avenue and proceed straight onto Church Street. Follow bend to the right. Montclair Beadworks is about 3/4 of the way down the block on the right.

FROM ROUTE 280: If heading west, take Prospect Avenue exit (Exit 8A) towards Cedar Grove. If heading east, take Prospect Ave (Exit 8B) towards Cedar Grove. Go 5 traffic lights. Make right on Bloomfield Avenue. Go 7 traffic lights. Make sharp right onto Church Street. Montclair Beadworks is about 3/4 of the way down the block on the right.
